Daytime Group Services
Our Daytime Small Group Services runs Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There are 2 staff for 6 clients. Some clients come all three days while other clients come only for specific days. The daily morning activities occur as follows:
Mondays: Community Involvement. We currently are helping to maintain trails at Morrell Nature Sanctuary. Activities include raking a wheelchair friendly trail, cutting back vegetation and doing other trail maintenance tasks.
Tuesdays: Vocational. Our day program earns money for their day to day activities by recycling bottles. Various local businesses donate their bottles to our day program. Clients help collect them then help recycle them at the bottle depot.
Wednesdays: Fitness and Nutrition. With the guidance of our personal trainer, clients go to the gym and run through cardiovascular and resistance training (weights) tailored to each client. On good weather days, clients are often offered a choice of going to the gym or going for a long walk. Nutritional guidance is also offered.
During the afternoons, clients engage in various recreational activities that have been planned during the morning. Activities will often include going for walks, playing board games together, working on arts & crafts, etc.
